Oktoberfest Munich Guided Tour

Description

When the whole world is at home in Munich!

It is the largest fair in the world and attracts Munich residents as well as guests from all over the world. Our walk around the festival grounds offers the opportunity to look behind the scenes of the Oktoberfest. Learn more about the origins of the festivities and the development from a royal horse race to a major annual event.

When Ludwig and Therese…

A medieval royal wedding was reason enough, to be simulated in a daily carillon at Munich’s Marienplatz. Some Wittelsbach generations and centuries later there is another wedding – this time outside the town walls of the city. There is a need for more space in order to stage a horse race in honor of the newly-weds. If the young bride, Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen ever dreamed of this event once becoming the world’s largest fair? Would she ever have said “I do”? We don’t know.

The “Wiesn” – “O’zapft is!”

No idea what the headline means? Definitely one more reason to join us on a guided tour of the history of Oktoberfest. What we know is a lot about history and many stories that are told about Munich’s Oktoberfest. Our private walking tour will lead you through the rush and stir of the fair grounds along stalls and merry-go-rounds with long tradition to the trendy fun rides, and we will also tell you numbers and facts.

Of course, it is all about beer, too. Hectoliters are running down thirsty throats in the “beer temples” on “Wirtsbuden Straße” and hilarious anecdotes originate from a long-lasting stay in one of the beer tents. You can be sure, we will share some of them with you.

Come along on a private Oktoberfest tour of the special kind – informative, funny, comfy, Bavarian. A walking tour for all ages.
